The AT&T folks were eager to welcome the 2009 inaugural visitors in Washington airports with large Internet maps. I wasn't able to visit the installations myself, but some people supplied photos, below.
I created the map images in the usual way, with data and software from Lumeta Corporation, a company I co-founded in 2000. The layout algorithm is a terrific new one by Yifan Hu at AT&T Labs. The colors were selected by my daughter, Kestrel Cheswick, now a student at Edinburgh College of Art. The idea for the poster, and all the rest of the work, came from other folks in AT&T.
